The couple in the movie Vacancy? I don't know if I should see it, I get scared easily and I'll see it if I know for sure if they die in the end. I like that kind of movie though, where you're scared the whole way through and you're sitting on the edge of your seat as long as the ending is good!

Okay for a while I thought it might have been a sequel to Cujo but I'm think not. Anyways it was about this big dog and I don't know it must have gotten into something like nuclear waste or something anyways. He's evil and he can take the form of things around him. One scene i remember is he's walking infront of an open garage and the people can't see him cuz he's like invisible or taking the form of junk in the garage. If this rings a bell to anyone let me know I kinda would like to see it again. Just to see if what I remembered was even close

I know it took place in the 70's. A teenage boy who was raised by his drunk mother...is dropped off that his mother's shrink house. The shrink's house is full of stranger people living there. One of the girls at the shrink's houlse thought the cat was going to die of some disease, so she kept the cat trapted under a laundry basket til he died of starvation. Later, she dug up the cat and cooked him. What was the name of this weird movie?

There is a pop culture question that I have to answer and I can't figure it out for the life of me:

Try to name this horror movie:

-It's a horror movie (obviously)
-It comes out in 2008, straight to DVD.
-It is the sequel to another horror movie that was originally released in 2002!

Does anyone know what this might be? Thank you very much!!!!!!!

I am an aspiring young film buff slowly building up my knowledge of cinematography (with a very long way to go).

Most of the films I watch have action sequences, purely because as a young man (and an inwardly puerile one) I find these features most entertaining; when I was a little boy I grew up on a diet of westerns and war epics and the 'manly protagonist+guns+megalomaniac antagonist' formula stuck with me; I get bored sitting through a film that doesn't have a good chase or gunfight (although violence is not integral to my enjoyment by any means).

Obviously as a wannabe buff and fountain of cinema-related knowledge I have to move away from this perspective of film and branch out; how can I ween myself off of these old habits though- what would be an ideal genre to start off with to aid my gradual separation from single-mindedness? Any film recommendations would be very gratefully recieved!

Thanks

I like a good action flick, and am fully aware that most of them are more 'a fun ride' or an exhibition of machismo than actually revolving around the evolution of cinema.

However, have any action films ever won critical acclaim on a serious level? That is to say real 'action' features, as opposed to 'action thrillers' or features from other genres that might have the odd action-orientated scene.

Are such films ever taken seriously? Thanks
