#3 Almost anything by John Williams makes Spielberg and/or Lucas movies even better. Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Jaws, many others...he sets mood and and complements the story's tone SO well.
#2 The score to Cinema Paradiso was magnificent. Many people don't know the movie (it's in Italian) but the score is all instrumental and the last scene is a classic - and the music is a big part of that.
#1 The Right Stuff...Soaring, inspiring. I find myself humming the main theme in the car months after the last time I saw it.

First of all, I absolutely LOVE "The Last Unicorn". I would watch it over and over when I was little, and I still love it.
"When the last eagle flies, over the last crumbling mountain
And the last lion roars at the last dusty fountain
In the shadow of the forest
Though she may be old and worn
They will stare, unbeliveing, at the last unicorn!
I"m Aliiiiiveeeeee!!!"
Sorry... (clears throat)
I think that my favorite soundtrack though would probably have to be the one from Dazed and Confused. It has some great tunes, and compliments the movie perfectly.
