everything went bad and you had a big fight and stopped speaking.You send an email asking to resurrect the friendship.

the next day you get an emailed invitation to a showing of art hosted by the person you fell for: there is no personal message - just the graphics ofthe emailed invitation.

What is your reaction?
Do you go to the art showing?
Are they just hoping you'll buy something?
Is it an olive branch?
Would you attend?

i heard it on the radio, but had to leave before i could get the composer and the name of the work. it's a voluptious, multi-movement piece, probably a symphony. it has sort of a high-class circus sound. heavy on the winds but not brassy. probably late-late romantic, or mid-century harmonic. it strikes me as being contemporary of poulenc, but not as atonal as 'dialogs of the carmelites'. i guess from the harmonics, tho, it would make more sense if it was from the 20's.

it's driving me crazy. anybody got any ideas?

Ever since I've been a kid, my aunt has had an obscene amount of giraffes in her house. Creeped out by the sight of about 30 long-necked creatures, some with rubber, malleable legs, others carved out of wood, boring a hole into my psyche with their large, shiny eyes, I asked her if she really likes them. She said "no, someone bought me one initially and I acted like I liked it, and then everyone started buying me them". How do you handle such a situation, or do you carry with it to your deathbed?
