You probably will only need one stamp if it is a normal size letter. If it is extremely heavy, you may need two. The best thing to do is to go to the Post Office and get them to weigh it just to make sure. But, if you are not able to get to the Post Office, then just put one regular stamp on it and make sure you have your return address on the letter and if one stamp is not enough, then the letter will be returned to you with a stamped message on it stating insufficient postage. Got to usps.com, you'll need to know the size of the envelope the zip codes and an approximate weight, if it's just a couple of pieces of paper a regular stamp should cover it, go to the domestic postage link and enter the information, it'll give you the cost of postage.

One 41 cent stamp will do it, unless your letter is 18 pages long and over an ounce in weight.

Depending on the weight of the item being sent that is how much stamp's it will take, but a letter regular mail 41cent's.
