if so, do you try to play them still?

Did you buy them new, or did you find them second hand or get them from others?

Do you have a player around someplace?

Do you know how to fix the splices and pads if you had to?

Do they amuse you?

(I have a small pile of Jazz and some old skool disco 8 track tapes I bought at a junk shop along with a player, and my tapes are in this cool looking fake alligator style case. My player works great, and listening to music this way once in awhile amuses me and my buds.)

I joined a community called "Freecycle" recently~where you post "wanted" or "offered" items that you need or need to get rid of. It's free, and you don't charge anyone for the items you get rid of.
Here is where my bitterness comes in:
Lately I've noticed a lot of "wanted"s. And some of them are big-ticket items! Like: trailers for hauling furniture, treadmill or other exercise equipment, log splitter, bunk beds... I guess I figure if someone has these items and wants to get rid of them, then they'll post that. As for the person wanting the treadmill, I almost replied that there is miles and miles of free sidewalk in our town, or you can walk at the mall, hospital, or sports arena for free (that's what I do!), and my husband is our logsplitter! . . .
So, am I just being bitter?

I always hear it referred to, but never in detail. I remember an old JSA cover where "Batman speaks from beyond the grave." Wikipedia says, "Wayne retires from the position to become police commissioner, a position he occupies until he is killed during one final adventure as Batman. " Again, no reference to documentation.

I'm guessing 2040.

Back in 1953 as a teenager being interviewed on a local TV channel on a program examining science fiction I made the prediction that man would soon reach the moon. The interviewer smiled somewhat condescendingly and went on to other topics. I'm sure though in 1969 when my prediction came true just 16 short years later that interviewer remembered what I had said way back when.
