I watched this movie yesterday and thought it was pretty good. Did anyone else like it?? Who were those people that arrived in those ships at the end?? Was it Christopher columbus or hernan cortes?? Bc i think the 3 ships were the Nina, the pinta and the santa maria, right?

I havent seen it yet, but it looks like its giood. A group of us are planning to going see it this weekend. Thanks for heads up. I now know atleast to expect something good from it. Regardless of his recent actions, I still like Mel Gibson. I think his movies are really touching. I will support him. We have to remember he is still human. Atleast he didn't kill anyone and get off free.

The Mayans died out about 700 years before any Spaniards came to the Americas. Gibson probably put in the Spanish boat at the end to make some kind of point. Jaguar Paw is either going to get killed by one group or the other?? The Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria came to America about 100 years before this movie was supposed to be taking place.

It's a good chase movie, but it does not show a doomed Mayan civilization, except that the arrival of the Spaniards would finish off this remnant of it. To find out who these explorers were, you'd probably have to read the history of Central America. I'm sure there were many individual Spanish captains who each took a small chunk of that backward, savage land.
