I'm guessing 2040.

Back in 1953 as a teenager being interviewed on a local TV channel on a program examining science fiction I made the prediction that man would soon reach the moon. The interviewer smiled somewhat condescendingly and went on to other topics. I'm sure though in 1969 when my prediction came true just 16 short years later that interviewer remembered what I had said way back when.

NASA is planning to set up a base on the moon in 2020. So I'm guessing we will reach Mars in 2030 or 2040.

I'll go for between 2040 and 2050, probably closer to 2050 though.

I think we'll reach Mars much earlier than that
Man is taking huge leaps instead of small steps in the case of scientific discoveries.
