If you have an unlimited supply of water and you have two buckets and one holds 4 gallons and the other holds 9 gallons and you need exactly 6 gallons (for what, I don't know...), so--how do you get the 6 gallons out of those two buckets. I had guessed that you fill the 4-gallon one up and pour into the 9-gallon one and then fill the 4-gallon one half-way up and pour into the 9-gallon one and that would be 6 gallons, but I was informed that this theory is incorrect because you wouldn't be able to measure exactly 1/2 of the 4-gallon bucket. So, somebody please help me figure this out !!
