A bay is a water between a stretch of land that joins it on two or three sides.

A sea is generally a body of water that is landlocked. Much like a lake, but much bigger in square miles.

An ocean is the biggest body of water there is. It is not landlocked, but contains continents and islands within it.

Hope this helps...

Just a matter of names. The people who own the land masses like to own the oceans as well. But since "ocean" names are copyrighted already, they have to go with "seas." Bays are for cities who'd like to name their oceans. Add in gulfs for further confusion.
