YAHOO as a noun is pronounced as / 'ja: hu: / with the stress on the first syllable, 'ya. When we say YAA we say it with a great stress & when we complete the word, we complete it with a falling 'hoo'! It means a rude, violent, noisyperson (disapprovingly)
In its use as an EXCLAMATION, it is pronounced as / ja: 'hu:) with stress on the second syllable 'hoo'. This Ya'hoo is used to show that you're very happy.
Answer: The stress is according to the context / situation..

I'm not 100% sure how Americans pronounce it but most English people I know stress BOTH "Ya" and "Hoo". It really works both ways.
