My cousin is almost 17 and very high functioning. He keeps saying he wants a girlfriend and other age-appropriate thoughts. However, he has those social quirks...
I thought a summer camp or social club with other aspergers-type kids would be a great way for him to meet people. I know they're out there. I just wasn't sure where to start looking.
Thanks!

I'm needing to interview a parent of a special education child about the school system. Just questions about what needs to be improved and what they like and dislike about the programs. I would really appreciate if anyone can help. none of the questions are personal and I don't even have to know your name. I would appreciate your time.

I'm considering pursuing a degree in special ed. I'm not really sure though. Does anyone have some insight for me that might help me make a good decision? I would appreciate it also if anyone would like to share their experiences as a special ed teacher.

I have an assignment to do an argumentative paper. The topic I have chosen is "special education" (pro). This may seem like a strange topic to some. I live in a small town where alot of people think that special ed is for "dumb" kids. Alot of parents are fighting the school system to have their kids removed from the program because of the lack of knowledge of what the program really is about. These kids are suffering because the parents are being ignorant and saying "I don't want my kid in the dumb class". I am a parent of an exceptional child and am totally for the program, but I am having trouble with my paper. I have ran searches on FAPE, Least Restrictive Environment and IDEA. But everything I have found is telling me that these acts & orginizations are letting the children down by not following through with funding & such. Can anyone help me with this? I need some positive words to work with. Thank you all.

Or at least get an idea of what a words a medical terminology course would teach. I'm a nurse and would like to apply for a job that requires medical terminology. I'm sure that I would meet the requirements without having the certificate. I'm just wondering what exactly is taught in the medical terminology courses to compair to my own knowledge? Is there somewhere online that gives and outline of medical terms taught in these kinds of courses?

My son was tested at school for autism and was found to have some symptoms but he is not severe enough for the school to classify him as such. They did recommend having him professionally tested and have blood work done. I live near Omaha, NE and was wondering if there were any doctors near here that anyone would recommended.

why is it so difficult for people to understand the concept of SPECIAL EDUCATION refers to the field of working with people with disabilities, mental and often physical, and not the incredibly irrelevant questions that have nothing to do with the actual field that flood this forum? Or have I just answered my own question?

My stepdaughter is in Special Ed for math. She currently is in the 6th grade. She works w/ a Occupational Therapist but lately has not been going because of scheduling problems and her not remembering to go on Friday afternoons. She has an IEP meeting coming up next week w/ myself and her teachers.I noticed that 2 boxes are marked-Develop/Review/Revise IEP and Other-PSY.-EVAL. What does PSY.-EVAL. mean????Do they think she is crazy? At her last progress report meeting they said she was doing great.

The CDC is not asking that question. Pfizer doesn't want us to know. The information about the robust connection between schizophrenia and advanced paternal age is supressed. There is a woman in graduate school in psychology who has never heard of the connection. There is too much money made from these conditions. Since paternal age is increasing and autism is epidemic and just the drug companies make$ 3.8 billion from the victims and project Pfizer to be the biggest player in this growing market past 2010. How can we find out by ourselves? We have to have a site that is absolutely independent of big business and any self-interested people, such as tobacco, psychiatry, of pharmaceuticals, infertility specialists. All these industries make too much money to want evidence saying it is wise to warn the public. "The greatest mutational hazard on earth is fertile "old" men." James F. Crow., genetics prof. emeritus 1997 I put the quotes on old. 35 is probably older for males and females.
