She does not think the student with special needs should be in the regular classroom because "it takes too much of the teacher's time". She thinks her child is falling behind because the teacher spends more time with the student with special needs.

The student has a full time educational assistant working with him. He is a great kid and parents do not yet have a diagnosis for him.

She is new to the board of our PTO and we do not want anyone thinking that the PTO thinks this way! It sickens the rest of us on the board that she thinks this way. As president of the PTO I want to talk with her but need ideas on what to say.

Here, the law is inclusion so if parents want it, students with special needs are in the regular classroom.

Thank you for your help and words of wisdom.

I heard that the Masons are in Corona, CA that provide a program for trouble teens. I am trying to help a teen that is trying to really spin out of control. There is no money and I understand the Masons provide the resident program at no charge. Thank each of you.

My mentally handicapped brother-in-law is 25 years old and still does not count the number of items in a set correctly. He knows his numbers, but when counting items, he'll sometimes say 2 numbers for one item. It looks to me like he is chanting the numbers to a preset rhythm in his mind, rather than waiting until he touches the next item to say the next number. His mother (my mil) has not given up on teaching this concept to him, and so I'm scrounging around for any ideas to give her. Are there any good activities or curricula that address this problem? Thanks for any help you can give!

The CDC is not asking the question of father's age in their new $5.9 million study of 2,700 autisitc children. Shouldn't we find out if there are more autistic children born to older fathers so that we have the facts.

If so, that would seem to invalidate the theory that immunizations can cause autism. If not, then this strengthens the theory that vaccines are the cause of the increase in autism. I am interested to hear the different points of view on this topic.

PLEASE HELP!!! i missed 4 years of school...my life at home was a nightmare...abuse..neglect..no routine...no going anywhwere...no normal life whatsoever...I don't have a clue what a normal life involves. as a consequence of being out of school for 4 years I got G grades in my GCSEs (apart from a D grade in English) after this happened....I really didn't know what to do/how to handle the situation. I stuidly sat at home doing nothing till I am now 18. i am in a state of real panic. How can I fix my education. I have looked at all the lolcal colleges for GCSE courses. my problem is that they are only one year in length....and they only cover work from the last tow years in school. I missed loads and loads of work from before then...so how on earth am I supposed to understand the content of the courses?? PLEASE HELP!!!! also how on earth am I supposed to put a programme of GCSEs together?? I live in England
