it doesn't take a very smart person to figure out that our school system here in the states is not one of the best in the world. america is supposedly the most powerful country in the world, yet the school system does not build that strong a foundation of the future leaders of the planet's greatest country in terms of democracy and GDP or whatever else. we are all aware of how badly the manners and conducts and virtues of the newer generations are deteriorating. also, some say that the english spoken in america is many times grammatically incorrect and most are horrible when it comes to spelling. so tell me, how can we improve?

My friend says that being on the honor roll doesn't make someone smart, it just means that you have good memorization skills. How can I tell him that being on the honor roll does mean you are smart and how can I explain to him that my friends are smart for making good grade? Please help.

My guy friend is being a complete jerk. He says my friends are stupid even though they are on the honor roll and book smart. He says that doesn't make a person smart being on the honor roll and it just means they have good memorization skills....What I can tell him to prove my friends are smart because they are on the honor roll and take higher math classes then most juniors?
