How do I tell gender from Indian first names?
Are there any basic rules?
What I have deduced so far:
Names ending in 'a' are (almost?) always female.
Names ending in 'i' are usually, but not always, male.
Names ending in 'd',p','v' are usually male.

I'm looking for some compact basic rules, rather than an encyclopaedic list, which I could find for myself.

I mean kids are getting more ignorant. Myspace, internet, clothes, music, celebreties, and many other frivolous things are what most kids talk about these days. At school (I am 13 in 7th grade by the way) I talk to some of the kids near me. Some of them think that America is at war WITH Iraq, some think that America is bombing Isreal, they don't know what Communism is, they don't know what terrorists are. I can go on. Kids are also getting more lazier. A lot of the kids in my class are doing bad in class, not doing work, and even FAILING. I look at the kids today and think "these are our future leaders?"

My parents are pretty uptight about most things, but I've never failed anything before so I don't know how they'll react. After the grade (59/100) is added to my grade, I'll have a C in the class, and a 3.65 GPA. Which is really bad for me.

yes my mom is fine with it. long story, but know i have thoroughly thought this out, i have a whole plan set out, don't try to convince me not to drop out and don't tell me it's a bad idea because i have had just about enough of that. thanks.
now then, i'm sixteen, a junior, public school.
has anyone ever withdrawn from high school? is it just a couple of papers you have to sign or a meeting or do you just have your parent write a letter or what?

I have pretty much destroyed my GPA by losing all my English assignments that was due today, the first day of the grading period. Those counted for 50% of my grade. Now I was doing well the first semester, second semester I screwed up, and I want at least this report card to go fine. I'm screwed without those assignments, but I can't find them ANYWHERE. What now? I will NOT sit around with a 40 on my report card. I've been an A- student since the 4th grade and I hate it when I get low grades, I'm honestly on the verge of tears now. What should I do?

Well, today in school we got out class elective booklet things. I'm in 8th grade, going to 9th, which is highschool..but still same building so not much different lol. me and my 3 friends are in a contest and are speech is about 401k's and their potentail to cause an "explosion". we had to write an essay and in the essay we refer to the 401k as a time bomb just waiting to explode. we are not allowed to use any props and we must wear dress clothes and ties. We need a great intro to start our speech off with that will catch the judges attention. Any suggestions would be great. if any one would like to see the paper we could send it to you to look at. we really want to win and just need a way to start the speech.
