My parents are pretty uptight about most things, but I've never failed anything before so I don't know how they'll react. After the grade (59/100) is added to my grade, I'll have a C in the class, and a 3.65 GPA. Which is really bad for me.

You sit them down and you tell them the truth and take what ever is going to come - if you hide it from the or hold out it will only be worse. Don't worry - they really just want to see you succeed. Tell them you are scared to tell them this - but you didn't see any other way.

Good Luck!!!

It will all work out for the best if you just tell them the truth.

You've gotten some excellent advice so far. I just want to add that if only eight kids got a C or better, then there was something wrong with the test, and the teacher should have graded it on a curve. You're taking advanced math, which means most of the kids in the class are smart, hard-working students. The fact that hardly anyone got better than a C means the teacher did not do a good job of preparing the class for the test. The main point is this: I'm sure your parents just want you to do your best, and you did.

Tell them the truth...... It will only get ugly if you lie or hold back the facts. If there is a reason for the low math final let them know. The fact is you got a 59 and there is nothing you can do about it now. If you accept responsibility for the grade it will show your parents how mature you are. Good luck ! ! ! ! !

Sounds like you are a good student. However, believe me as a concerned parent also who had 3 girls now out of high school, your parents will find out anyway about your grade. I wish I knew what grade you are in. You can also approach your teacher to find out if there is any extra credit you can do to up your grade. The school year is only half over - can you raise the grade by the end of the year? Just be honest with your parents - best policy even though they may get upset. Try to explain what happened and what you think you can do about it. HONESTY HONESTY HONESTY

Mom, dad, I failed my math test. There's no easy answer. Is there any chances for extra credit or tutoring that would make it sound better? Have been under a lot of stress causing you to fail? Good luck!

Just remind them that this is not your final grade, after all you still have another semester and all your grades are averaged together so as long as you really try and work hard next semester you can bring that grade up

If you have been doing good in your other subjects and in math in the past just go up and tell them. Tell them that it has been hard for you but you will really, REALLY try harder. But also make sure your in thier good side that day. Do everything you can to make them happy that day and then break the news. They wil understand.

Tell them the truth. You'll feel better doing that then holding it in. I know from experiences. And tell them that u promise to work harder on your grades. Especially your math. And cut off everything that distacts you.

I think you should be truthful with your parents. Tell them now so that way they have time to cool off. Then you'll (hopefully) have enough time to raise your grade. Good Luck!
