now then, i'm sixteen, a junior, public school.
has anyone ever withdrawn from high school? is it just a couple of papers you have to sign or a meeting or do you just have your parent write a letter or what?

Oh, that's a GREAT idea. Your mom must be a sterling individual to support your goals.

Here's a good plan: take drugs, get pregnant, go on welfare and become a parasite on society. We need all the uneducated lazy people we can get.

Listen, no matter how well you've thought this out, or what a wonderful person you are, that is how people will see you. You are shooting yourself in the foot before you've even started life. As much of a drag as it is, finish school no matter what it takes. Move to a different district if you have to. But I guarantee that you will not think this is a good idea in 10 years or less.

I dropped out of High School after my Jr. year. I was horribly bullied in School because I am physically disabled. I told my Dad that I just couldn't go back for my Sr, year. Dad agreed. For years I worked in factories, did housekeeping and waitress work .A person really need education beyond high school these days. When I was 30 years old I went to get my GED and then I took Office procedures and started doing office work which was far easier on me because of my crippled leg.It was then and only then That I was able to receive a decent wage. I don't know why you and your Mother feel you be better off quiting and I am not asking. Just stop going if that is really what you feel is the best for you. Good Luck! (I really did mean that)

Good luck finding a decent job. I know lots of people who dropped out of school, and well, for the most part they have a hard time. Just think it through. Education is a very important thing to have!

My goal in life is to explain all of the reasons dropping out of school is not a good idea. (I'm not being sarcastic either) May I ask why you are dropping out. It is very easy to drop out by the way. Basically your parent needs to sign a few papers. Unless you have some amazing reason. Please don't do it. I would love to know your reasons. If they are personal I understand and best of luck to you in what ever you pursue.

If your mother is fine with you dropping out, then she is a bad parent for not keeping her child in school to get an education. It is a bad idea for you to do this because you will not get a good paying job. You will be forced to work a minimum wage job for very little pay and very little hours. As for your dreams, you can forget about them because without a high schookl diploma, you will never be able to achieve them. My advice to you is to stay in school so you can have a better chance at succeeding in life. Do you really want to throw your life away because you have had enough of high school? To me, that is the saddest thing anyone can do. I really do hope you change your mind about this. If you don't, then you and your mother both will have my pity, because it will be a shame to see that happen to a child such as yourself.

You could have your mother talk with the Principal, then she would have to homeschool you up untill the end of highschool, when you could legally drop out.

And are you sure about this? If there's something you really like to do, then there are schools that focus especially on that subject.

What would that letter sound like?

Maybe something like this...

To Whom It May Concern:

My daughter is so lazy, stupid, and short-sighted that she'll never make it in the real world, so why bother to have her finish school when it's so blatently obvious that she'll never ammount to anything? I really think that you should just let her drop out.

Sincerely,
Mica's mom

i'm sure if you just stopped going that would qualify as dropping out. it would be a looser move, but hey, its you life.
