By going on to do great things in your life. He wants you to do something stupid to try to 'get back' at him; it will turn out badly for you if you do.

The best revenge against him is that you are remaining an A student…it secures your position. What do you mean “brutal?” Does he humiliate you, hit you, or give you too much work? Try to define exactly what you mean and write it down on paper. Read it over and ask yourself if you are being fair in your judgments of his behavior. If you are and he is really out of line then start documenting. By this I mean write down the dates, times, and details of incidents. Get back-up from other students if possible (proof). Once you have gathered the information take it to a councilor, principal, or advocate. If he is truly “brutal” they will have to act on your behalf. Good luck and congratulations in remaining an A student!

You could ask him for a meeting and directly tell him that you feel threatened by him. Otherwise, keep in mind that sometimes teachers will challenge students they think can take it. He may also be building you up for the real world, where people will ridicule and test you on a regular basis. If you feel he's being malicious in his comments, tell him that. Don't lower yourself to 'get back' at him. Challenge him to explain his methods of teaching and ask him if you're interpreting what he says incorrectly. Use that "A" brain of yours to communicate with him and see where it goes from there.

By brutal do you mean he physically assaults you? No.
He makes jokes about you, makes fun of you in class and the like? Most likely.
Tell him to stop document it then if he continues to brutalize you bring it to the attention of the Faulty Senate / Review Board. They still have those in Universities I hope. These is always a channel in liberal Universities to chastise PC incorrect faculty and student.
Make sure you have sufficient documentation and a witness or 2 if possible.
Other than that...leave it alone. You'll be out of the class soon enough.

By not letting him get you down. You're an A student, so you are obviously motivated, intelligent, and you care about your future. So keep that in mind whenever he picks on you, and don't let him get to you. Just ignore his rude comments, do your best in your homework, and if he tells you something he "thinks" you should be doing or doing differently, just politely say "Thank you sir, for your advice, I will take that into consideration." You're half way through your year, I assume, so not much longer left with him.

He may be picking on you because he knows your a good student and wants you to be even better.
If he is picking on you because he is a jerk and all you say... You can get him back by being the best that you can be... prove him wrong
good luck

Tell him. Maybe he's picking on you because he likes you. But then if he's not, then report him to the Principal or something.

I am not sure what he did exactly, but I'd say just "keep your cool", it will soon pass.
