When I was in elementary school, I was fortunate to have excellent teachers who taught me how to read, (and I love to read) and proper hygiene & manners. I had music teachers from 2nd through 8th grade who taught me to love music & how to sing, (I have a broad interest in music). In 7th grade my geography teacher, who was also a mountain climber and explorer, instilled in me a love for the outdoors and nature (I love to mountain hike). From 2nd grade through 5th, my gym teachers raised my self esteem and self confidence and taught me how to be a better athlete than I already was,(I've always been active in athletics and coaching), and I'm a history nut because my history teachers made learning history fun and interesting. Most of my teachers were very good to me and were good at their job. They had a more profound effect on my life than my own parents. Do you folks feel the same way about your teachers as I, or was I just one of the lucky ones? Feel free 2 thank your teachers here.

Are they solely dependent on your disclosure of prior colleges attended or do they do some sort of background check?

I was a matriculated student for one semester back in '97, had discipline problems and was subsequently kicked out at the end of the semester. My grades were bad.

I have since taken a year's worth of classes at a local state college and have done fairly well. I took the classes for credit, but did not matriculate. I am in the process of applying to several schools for spring enrollment and feel disclosing the college I attended back in 1997 will hurt me.

Has anyone else ever had or currently has this problem? If I add the classes I took in 1997 my current gpa would be so reduced that I would not meet the minimum transfer entrance requirements for the colleges I am applying to now ( or really any college for that matter). If I do not mention the school I attended back in 1997, can current schools find out?

Thanks!

Ok, well I am a senior taking Algebra 2 and Chemistry...my friends who took them last year said they were really hard to pass...and I know I don't have to take it to graduate or whatever....but I'm taking them because I want to go straight to a Four year college...so I was wondering, is it really worth possibly failing the classes and ruining my gpa? Or do I drop the classes and just go to a two year college first.?

well, my first day of school was the worst day ever. I could not find any of my classes and when I did they were the wrong class or the class was almost over ( my school is HUGE, under construction and really confusing) so I ended up skipping and going back to look at the middle school which i miss so much to visit some of my friends. I really dont want to go back to the high school but I know I have to, Advice?

Okay, I want to be a therapist/psychologist, it just sounds like the greatest job in the world to me. But I'm not sure it would be the best job for me or not. I also have a little skill with art, and I love surrealism paintings/artists. I also play the piano and enjoy most music. I'm just handing out my skills and interests here, so, what do you think would be a good job for me?

I had this abusive, racist, incompetent teacher when i was in secondary school. Most unfortunately, i was the one she choose to pick on all the time, but she also looks down on our entire class.
She's chinese, and she can't speak any chinese dialects, thus, she condems us who speak mandarin, says we should stop speaking chinese and stop reading chinese books, chinese educated students are not taught manners in school unlike her, an english educated student. She also expressed that chinese educated students are lausy and should be sent to an english school, lucky she did not send her childern to chinese school etc.
She is also constantly picking on me, checking me all the time, gossiping about me in the teachers' office until some teachers came and ask me what i did to anger her, shaming me in front the whole class. There are also plenty she's done to me but not mentioned here. She was so abusive that i didn't finnish my upper six and went to college instead.
