This is the first question for my assignment which is titled: critical analysis and summary.

I have to complete a critical analysis of the following document:

The first question says:
Identify the main line of reasoning of the piece - what is the writer's argument?

Don't mean to sound dumb but this is confusing me and really peeing me off.

Do i just need to say whether the writers is for or against IQ testing? If that is the case, i have read over the document, yet i can't work out whether the writer is for or against it?

My family’s history and culture has influenced me in many ways. Part of what makes me who I am today is because of what my family has gone through and the way they strive for me to do my best. .................

The way my family’s history influenced me was how they struggled to make a living being immigrants in the United States. I come from a Haitian family, where in Haiti, going to college isn’t really seen as important or necessary as it is in the United States. Because of that mentality (particularly in my mother’s case), finding a job later in in life was always a struggle. i have to write a story to go on from:

I sat huddled as far as possible underneath the hedge. The frantic rain attacked my bitterly cold hands. My coat, soaked through, had become a heavy weight and soon I was left shivering. I could see the sun beginning to set and knew soon it would become even colder. Looking across the field I saw silhouettes in the distance. Could it be them? Were they coming back for me? I looked around again but there had vanished. I tired to convince myself that they would return.
As the sun lowered in the sky and the temperature plummeted I became afraid.

Any ideas? (that begining can be changed slightly)
