This is the first question for my assignment which is titled: critical analysis and summary.

I have to complete a critical analysis of the following document:
http://education.guardian.co.uk/egweekly/story/0,5500,1126303,00.html

The first question says:
Identify the main line of reasoning of the piece - what is the writer's argument?

Don't mean to sound dumb but this is confusing me and really peeing me off.

Do i just need to say whether the writers is for or against IQ testing? If that is the case, i have read over the document, yet i can't work out whether the writer is for or against it?

Please Help

The author is against iq testing that is based on eugenics or race. She is for scholastic testing which rates how well a person is doing in school rather than anything based on base intelligence.

Ok, what they mean to ask is this:
What is this article really about, and is the writer pro or con, and HOW? If I'm not mistaken, it's the HOW you are after.
