I need help with the dbq question from 1999
To what extent had the colonists developed a sense of their identity and unity as Americans by the eve of the Revolution?

It needs to be something that affects all types of people-Newsworthy. It needs to be something that I can localize-I need to get 2 interviews. I live in Florida. Also, I am looking for some unique ideas, a story that hasn't been done before-things like high gas prices have been done etc. Or if it is a story which has been done before if you have an idea for a new interesting spin on it. Any ideas will be very much appreciated.

Why do you think Ponyboy's life was still troubled after the court hearing?
This is from the book 'The outsiders' by S,E Hinton, this is when Ponyboy was still in a very bad shape even after the judge said that he could stay with his family...

I am reading a book called "The Outsiders" by S,E Hinton, and I got to the part after Johnny and Dally were both dead and that Ponyboy was really depressed and he fainted (or got ill), so why did Randy (the Socs) come to visit Ponyboy and why did Ponyboy not care that Randy was seeing his house in a messy condition?

I closed my eyes for no more than two seconds, praying that someone would finally appear through that door as successful, again, I was not. I opened my eyes once again to one unpleasant surprize; There, upon my wet eyes, yearning for help, were those sticky, wet creatures. I no longer knew what to do as all i felt were the cold, fuzzy legs of the eight legged insect which crawded up my legs, my arms, and even my neck! I shivered and kept my body in motion, praying that that itchy feeling of those frightful, ugly looking spides would fall off; No matter how much i tried, still, I found myself within the same possition. I felt as if this hell would never come to an end, specially once one of the spiders successfully reached my face. I felt as if death was soon to arrive once the wet, freezing legs continued to move all across my face.
