A small block slides along a track from one level to a higher level, by moving through an intermediate valley (see Figure). The track is frictionless until the block reaches the higher level. There a frictional force stops the block in a distance d. Assume that the block's initial speed is 11 m/s, the height difference h is 3.5 m, and muk is 0.66. Find the distance d that the block travels on the higher level before stopping.

Can somebody help me with this homework problem, I'm very stumped as to how I should approach this:
Harry wants to know how many miles his car gets in city driving and how many it gets in highway driving. Harry kept track of his car's mileage and found that on 9 gallons of gasoline he was able to drive a combination of 96 miles in the city and 160 miles on the highway. On 11 gallons of gas, he was able to drive a combination of 144 miles in the city and 160 miles on the highway. Using this info find how many miles per gallon his car gets in city driving and how many it gets in highway driving.

In a typical eBay auction: bidders compete for a fixed period of time, and at the end of period the highest bidder gets the good and pays his bid to the seller. During this process, any bidder can see the history of highest bids. I've these questions:

1) How important is information asymmetry in eBay auctions considering perspective of both the buyer and seller.
2) eBay has a rating system for each seller. What is the economic rationale for this (from the perspective of increasing expected revenues of the seller)?
3) In eBay auctions, should bidders be willing to bid up to their value for the good or not? Justify your answer.
4) Most bids come in right before the auction closes. What is an economic rationale for this behavior? Should this be more of a problem for common value or private value auctions?
5) Is collusion likely to be a problem here? In particular, does the auction design promote or discourage collusion?

I've some ideas but need your help to refine them.
