Assures a steady supply of labour to seasonal industries. Assures survival of the labourers because they are never outof work and left to fend for themselves when they are not immediately needed. Steady industries or boom times make free labour more desirable.
Those are economic points and are not related to morals.

Really, there are very few reasons why slavery would be "good" other than for economic reasons. You might be able to talk about how it helps with social structure, but I'm not sure what you could say.
If you have the guts to really play the devil's advocate you could say that 'slavery' is a way of civilizing an otherwise uncivilized herd of people and that learning the ways of the Europeans will actually be better for them in the long run.
Most of the pro-reasons for slavery were extremely lame once you peeled back the racism.

You must be on a debate team, but besides the division of class status, and economics, that would be virtually impossible. And this answer does not represent my feelings OK. There is nothing good about slavery, unless there is a social need for a source of manpower to achieve a specific goal, that can not other wise be accomplished by a paid labor force. But even in that event, the quality of workmanship would always be in question. And there is just something in any human that will always fight an injustice done to them. If there ever existed a society that was powerful enough to force others of lesser means to do there absolute bidding in order to fulfill a social status norm, Ya know, I don't think I can really give a good reason, period.

Don't look at recent slavery, the subject is really to emotive. Do a bit of research on slavery in the ancient world, the Greeks and the Romans and look at the role of slavery in their empires. Look at how their empires could not have grown and flourished without slavery and look at the learning that came out of their civilizations that we still value today.

One of the reasons used by the slave owners is they believed they had a parental responsibility (I can't remember the word for, but its something paternity) for the slaves because they were viewed as "unable" to care for themselves. Thus these slave owners believed they were actually helping these slaves. Many slave owners who visited the factories of the north in the industrial area's also saw that their slaves were living in better conditions, recieving more food, etc. than the factory workers. This again reinforced their thoughts that they were doing a justice for the slaves. There was a study done which measured the food intake and the average height and weight of the different professions and races, and the slaves performed better than the factory workers in both average height, and they consumed more meat per capita than the factory workers, I believe the ate more food in general, but I don't remember exactly. Hope that helps!

i certainly think of that particular segments of the non secular proper polarize around lowest uncomplicated denominators which includes race, abortion, and different subject concerns because of the fact they're particularly shrink and dry with which to channel their collective hate. in case you seem on the later component of the final US presidential election it truly is obvious that the republicans reached out to those communities in a final minute attempt for votes. in basic terms watch the video "proper united statesa. feeling Wronged" by potential of Alex Pelosi and you will see examples of that. Roe vs Wade should not be overturned on condition that that could in basic terms create a great black industry of back alley abortion sweat shops that could in basic terms cripple the rustic's wellbeing care gadget on a virus point remarkable in social medical background.

Good for the slave-owner they get endless supply of very cheap laborers - good for the slaves who have very little chance of surviving alone ( sure it is mostly hard labor , but they are rewarded with food, shelter, and many other things that they would not have on their own)....When the pyramids of Egypt were built the slaves worked along with the citizens, side by side and got equal credit for their effort !
