Anyone know how to subtract to negatives and turn it into a word/story problem?

I'm doing a project where we have to write a story/word problem and I'm stuck. I need one for subtracting two negative numbers. I'm trying to relate it to football but at this point anything will do....PLZ HELP

Am I missing something? You simply add the absolute value of the subtrahend to the minuend. For instance:

(-2) - (-2) =

(-2) +(2) =

0

or

(-3) - (-7) =

(-3) +(7) =

4

I'm at a loss regarding how you're going to arrive at a negative number (IQ jokes aside) in a football analogy.
