Eris which was a new planet discovered on January 5, 2005, from images taken on October 21, 2003 by the team of Mike Brown, Chad Trujillo, and David Rabinowitz with the diameter of 2400 km, slightly larger than that of Pluto. It is now designated as dwarf planet.

With new classification as dwarf planets included:
Ceres, discovered on January 1, 1801, by Giuseppe Piazzi which was considered an asteroid for over 150 years.

Other new bodies discovered next to Pluto which can be categorized as dwarf planets include:
***2005 FY9 ("Easterbunny")
***Orcus
***Sedna
***2003 EL61 ("Santa")
***Quaoar
***Charon
***2002 TC302
***Varuna
***2002 UX25
***2002 TX300

Charon,the largest moon of Pluto is still on controversy of being included as dwarf planet. It qualified per definition but International Astronomical Union have not currently recognized it.♥

There are two new planets. One is named Morton, and the other is named Clipton. They are named after the astronomers that discovered them. I just turned in a research paper on this topic.
