Higher Education (University +) - June 2006

I'm looking into different law schools in my area (which is south Texas) and I've read that it is hard to get into UT Austin. When I looked at the website, I noticed that they list things like "race and ethnicity," "history of overcoming eco/socio disadvantages" and "geographic diversity" under factors considered for admission. Does that mean that because I'm a middle class white guy I won't have a good change getting in? My grades, resume....why is it that it's that one aspect the school looks for, that could make or break my future...

ohhh and does anyone know if you majored in business if its possible to get a job in fashion marketing.
i understand a good fashion school would be great for that kind of job, such as FIDM, but im looking for a bigger school, and im not sure if thats what i want to do, so i was thinking in majoring in buisness, any sugestions?

My family just moved in here from Africa and my son is suppose to be getting into college next year at the age of 15. His present high isn't so much in support of that ue to his age. He is the kind of student who has always been pushed forward. His transcript from Africa testifies that he's already done most of the major courses he needs to graduate from high school with. He is just goin to be spend one more year to do some American courses. His school wants him to stay for like two more years but he's really reluctant about that because he thinks that wouldn't be fair to him since he wroked extremely hard to get to where he is now. Atleast his present results here in U.S.A are really good. Please do help me if u have any advice on what to do. Ur advice will really count at this point.

I am a senior at the University of south fl and my major is biomedical sciences and i plan on applying to pharmacy school and dental school next year, but i was accepted in a 2 year radiography program in a community college. Should I finish my bachelors and apply to pharmacy and dental or do the AS in radiography and come back to finish my degree. I am 24 years old. what should i do
