Almost everyone who knows that they want to become a lawyer wants to attend a school known for its prelaw program. However, those same people will also apply to the top law schools, the very same ones that you want to attend. Because a "prelaw" program is simply a conglomeration of different courses meant to prepare you to think, you should choose a college not based on credentials and not necessarily reputation, but on how the program works for you.
The best advice I was given prior to attending law school was to major in my passion and not prelaw. The law school will mold you far better than any prelaw program. And remember, diversity is key, who wants ALL of their students to come from the same background?
Also, let's face it; majoring in anything you are passionate for will probably result in a high GPA ( which isn't a bad thing :) ).

Depends on how much money you have/or can get from scholarships and what state you live in...
By the way, the best colleges will only accept people who can spell....it's not hard....it's called "spellcheck". Reading books also helps with spelling correctly. It's going to be very important because attorneys are expected to spell correctly in filings. Teachers only give a bad grade; Judges can do MUCH worse. Good luck.

i comprehend a good number of human beings like your chum. colleges, particularly the Ivies pick students which will provide some thing which will make the school income. in simple terms grades received't do it. definite, if she wins a huge competition it helps, even if that is glaring to the school she is in undemanding words worried about be the most proper and having good grades, yet the position does that positioned her for the destiny at the same time as she is in some occupation. She received't get grades anymore. that is the common human being who expects to get in everywhere and turns into actual shocked at the same time as no Ivy league accepts her. My chum is doing that now and he or she is so stress because she ought to get an A as a substitute of an A+ in intense college. She continuously says to me, "Oh my god, i'd get an A in physics, meaning i'm no longer stepping into college." Now i do not communicate to her anymore because my GPA is 3.9 and hers is 4.0 and he or she continuously complains about it. You sound more effective like me. My rank is likewise fifteenth in a spread of between 550 and 600 students. i'd have 11 APs over 4 years, yet college provides more effective APs than many different colleges. i'm president of a club and that i have distinct awards and 1st places at competitions variety extracurriculars and out of doorways of faculty analyze. i imagine you and that i are the more effective positive applicants because we prepare that we provide administration and could participate in activities on campus and make a contribution to the school. I have a good number of activity for some instructions particularly sciences, it really is exceedingly obtrusive. it truly is evidence of larger psychological promise it really is significant. i'm a junior looking in route of Ivy League colleges, and that i imagine applicants like you and that i have the most proper photos. also, someone comprised a itemizing of human beings variety my college which have the most proper photos on the most selective colleges. I made the record even ahead of lots of those with larger GPA's and ranks than mine.

Duke or Stanford would be obvious choices.
However, MIT might be a better choice. Why? Because a lot of Duke and Stanford students will apply to the top law schools, while not that many MIT students go on to law. The top schools don't want to take too many students from the same undergraduate school -- so it will improve your chances.
