Why is one more "definite" (not sure if that's the right word) for Universities to get a degree over the other?

Like Online schools that have an accredited notice, is that legitimate as a University. Why do careers have a favor over another?

I'm a recent undergraduate, and I knew for a long time grad school was right for me, but I had trouble deciding what exactly to major in. I've figured that out finally, but now it's the problem of picking one of the dozen schools that has my program! What really complicates the problem is I'm Canadian, yet looking to head south (to the US). So while I'm quite familiar with Canadian schools, I can't say the same about US schools.

I don't need to know how *I* should choose a grad school; that's my decision, and I've heard enough competing advice. I'd just like to hear how YOU chose your grad school, and for you to share your experience. Those that went from Canada to the US - I'd particularly like to hear about you!

Thanks!

My school have given me some pretty terrible predicted grades including an E in English, F in Maths, D in D&T, and so on. This poses a problem when applying for sixth form/college places, and I think that I could easily outpreform these predictions and get at least Cs in these subjects. If I just write down C as my prediction on the application form, will they question it, or will I just have to prove my offical grade after exam?

Thanks

I have notice that my degrees do not give me any traction in the job market. I thought obtaining theses degrees as well as my experience would yield me a great job. But now I am seeing that don't having business degrees from top tier schools do not go anywhere. My question is should I get another degree from another institution,(mindful that I already have 65,000 in student loans to repay)? I just do not know what to do. Could some please out there give me some advice?

I went to university last year and was studying a major I wasn't really interested in, so I became lazy and failed about every class those 2 semesters. I dropped out needless to say, and now I'm applying at a new college in NY as a high school student (not as a transfer since I don't have many credits to transfer). Should I mention in the additional information section that I have dropped out? Is it better to omit it and hope they never find out, or be straight with them and possibly risk my chances of getting in?

I'm a junior in high school, and I'm beginning to take the tests -- SAT I's, SAT II's, ACT's -- in prepration for college. I'm having trouble deciding what school I want to go to, because I am unsure of my major. I am very much interested in art (I've taken all the art classes, and I plan to take AP art next year) I am also interested in psychology -- just because it seems fascinating (but I have not taken a psychology class yet, so I don't really know what kind of studying it involves) Some of my friends suggest taking Art as my major, and others suggest taking English language as my major, which I am also slightly interested in. So, I'm pretty much interested in everything except science. How should I choose my major?

My daughter went to school in Kansas City up until her sophmore year, when we moved to Indiana. I have never had to pay for textbooks in a public school...til now. Indiana requires students to "rent" their textbooks. This semester I have to pay almost $30 a book...per trimester. I was under the impression that public schools were free and my tax dollars fund them. I have always had to pay for classes like photography, woodworking, etc. But to pay to rent a textbook???? Isn't this illegal?
