I went to university last year and was studying a major I wasn't really interested in, so I became lazy and failed about every class those 2 semesters. I dropped out needless to say, and now I'm applying at a new college in NY as a high school student (not as a transfer since I don't have many credits to transfer). Should I mention in the additional information section that I have dropped out? Is it better to omit it and hope they never find out, or be straight with them and possibly risk my chances of getting in?

Since you suggest that you actually finished the courses and failed, you have to include it. Schools these days use a database to see if people have been enrolled elsewhere, and if you do not include this information, you could get yourself into a lot of trouble.
