Hi, I could not understand what dinghy over means in this sentence;

"That evening, Mottola dinghied over from his boat and cooked pasta."

I graduated from high school taking the minimal math required to graduate. It was very basic Mathematics and I was lucky to pass it. On the other hand, my Science classes were a total interest of mine and I recieved A's in the classes.
What is the deal. I am going to have to take math to get into Chemistry, and I am afraid I will not be able to pass the classes. It is so hard for me. I struggle and it is scaring me to enroll in college Math. Whats the deal and how do I get good grades? I feel totally stupid. Its embarrasing. Do other people struggle like this?

In English we've been told to write an essay about a certain thing in a book and i was wonderin if anyone knows something that i can write about
(sorry if that sounds reely confusin so heres an example:)
e.g Write about how the writer develops the main charachter
Show how the character changes through the book

He and I took an assessment to determine where we place in college math. We both assessed into the same level math course. Should we take the same class at the same time or should I take it at a different time? I could pick him up on the way to class to save him some money.

I'm teaching a computer class in a Catholic school for only one hour/day on top of my public school teaching schedule. (I just found out today and school starts next Tuesday.) I'm not Catholic, nor do I go to church. I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar situation.

Hi, I am thinking about what career I want, and was wondering, if I want to be a college prof. what degree will I need?, I was thinking about a B.S in Business, and then a Masters in it as well. Will this qualify me to teach? Or will I need to take educational courses as well? I am sort of on the fence between teaching college or elementary (grades K-6, I would have to get a B.S in Early Ed.). If you could include salary comparisons between the two I would appreciate it. I am going to a high school, and I am very nervous.
On the first day of school all of the freshmen in the school, are having an orientation, or whatever.
They didn't give us a map to the school, and I am very nervous.
What is an orientation, are they going to show 400 kids around the school or something?

I am going to Middle school in a week or 2 and I am nervous! What should I expect, should I bring a lock for my locker? Do I need a big backpack? How much different from elementry school is it? I had a class today at noon - I accidently went to it at 11 -- (college). I emailed my teacher saying it won't happen again.

Is this common to happen? School just started a week ago so I got confused with the class schedule. Would she forgive me? The earlier class is exactly like mine - I took the quiz she wanted us to take. My quiz now just happens to be with the other students of the earlier class (I emailed her this).
