Hello RN's out there:

I am currently working on an associate's degree in an unrelated field, but am thinking about entering an RN program once I graduate. I realize that admission is extremely competitive, and have a few questions on how to improve my chances:

1. Will it be an advantage to have an associate's degree as well as a high school diploma when applying? (The RN program is in the same community college as I'm currently attending.)

2. I'm thinking about taking the required non-nursing classes before applying to the nursing program (math, anatomy & physiology, microbiology and psychology). Will having good grades in these classes improve my chances of admission?

3. The RN program accepts either an ACT or a NLN-PAX score for admission: which one do you think I should take for improved chances?

4. Will poor grades in unrelated courses taken two years ago prevent me from getting admitted, if I raise my cumulative GPA to 3.0 (preferred at this program)?

Thank you!

My son came home today with a green circle on his behavior folder for being a wiggle worm @ story time. She said she warned him 2 times. I feel the green circle was too extreme for that behavior. Here are her discipline rules.... A sticker means an excellent day, green circle means had a warning . Rewards will be given to child that has only had stickers for the whole week and the month. So his chance of a reward is shot for this week and this month. He was so sad today after only be @ school for less than a week in his life! Already his selfesteem is low . I understand kindergarten is prep for following rules and paying attention. My daughters kinder teacher was never that strict. Any advice?

I am going to the 11th grade this year and am looking toward college. Last year [10th grade] I got HORRIBLE grades, and didn't make the honor roll first semester. On my final report card I barlely earned a 3.0 leaving my cummulative G.P.A. a little over 3.1. In addition, I recieved a "D" in English [which I STRONGLY dissagree with being that English is my strongest subject], took an A.P. course, but didn't take the A.P. test, will only be in Algebra 2 next year, and CAN'T play sports to save my life!!!

Naturally, I will be trying my ABSOLUTE best to make up for my past failure, but I am still very much worried about my future. Please tell me, do I stand a chance at gaining admittance into a good University??? Anything you know of that I must do, PLEASE tell me!!

I'm in professional school and looking for a good office chair for sitting/studying long periods of time. In the past, I have used cheap folding chairs and sat on top of pillows. However, I have decided I would like to invest in a good chair. Do you have any suggestions?
