I am going to the 11th grade this year and am looking toward college. Last year [10th grade] I got HORRIBLE grades, and didn't make the honor roll first semester. On my final report card I barlely earned a 3.0 leaving my cummulative G.P.A. a little over 3.1. In addition, I recieved a "D" in English [which I STRONGLY dissagree with being that English is my strongest subject], took an A.P. course, but didn't take the A.P. test, will only be in Algebra 2 next year, and CAN'T play sports to save my life!!!

Naturally, I will be trying my ABSOLUTE best to make up for my past failure, but I am still very much worried about my future. Please tell me, do I stand a chance at gaining admittance into a good University??? Anything you know of that I must do, PLEASE tell me!!

There are a few possibilities. First of all, if you do really well this year, you might have a chance at some more schools. You would need to get outstanding grades, very strong SAT scores, and get involved in some activities (sports are not the only things you can do - you can do anything from community service to choir).

Then, let's take the worst-case scenario. Things continue to be bad for you, and your GPA stays at 3.1. You can go to a community college for two years, do well, then transfer to a good college. Your grades aren't terrible, just not very strong. Basically, you are a B student. So you could go to an okay college, do well, then go to a good college for graduate school. Sure, it is harder than if you started out at Harvard or MIT, but it is not impossible.

of course you do. in going to the 12th grade this year. and im telling you that 11th grade is the most important. you have to take at least 2 ap classes 3 is best to make up for the past years. and you have to work hard and get involved in couples. make sure you write a good application essay and score high enough on the act/sat take both to see which one you do best on. and always take an ap test even if you know you wont get higher than a one.
