I'm working on one question for my astronomy homework, and can't solve the problem without knowing this: How do I convert a measurement in arseconds into AU? Here's the wording for this portion of the question:

"The apparent length of the semimajor axis as seen through a telescope is 4.5 arcseconds." But I need to know how many astronomical units this converts to in order to find the masses...

Basically, I'm an English major. Sure, give me an equation, I'll solve it. But it's not doing that!!!

I have been really down for quite a long time and this is really affecting my work at uni. I feel so alone and spaced out, I have distanced myself from family and friends, they don’t understand. I have been having some dark thoughts and I can’t seem dig myself out of this hole. I am trying to sort myself out, but it is taking too long.

Last semester i messed up and failed 3/5 of my courses, fortunately i can retake. You can only fail two credits in the whole year.

So this semester I promised myself, I would try to go to all my lessons. But I have failed to do this as I keep on putting off going to class. I don't know what's wrong with me, every time I think about going I feel nauseated , I get have a stomach upset, once I threw up, I don't know why feel this way.

Today I found out that in one of the classes (I have never been to), an assessment due in. There's no way can I complete it as I have no ideas what it is about.

I havent taken very many science courses. I guess what I'm really asking is whether or not there are schools that will taken in non-science undergrads into their schools.

If you know of any, please list them.

I've been homeschooled my entire life. I went to public school last year for the first time, and the kids there were'nt the brightest stars in the sky. I got straight As, was in two advanced classes, and just did really well all around.
But then it seems that every question on here when somebody who answers gets mad at the questioner, they say stuff like "you must've been homeschooled"
That really pisses me off, we aren't stupid at all, and the ones who are it's because they wreen't doing well in the crappy public school system and had to be pulled out and taught at home.
So does anybody think we're stupid? If you do, give an actual reason, examples. It seems like you have nothing to back up your mean statements.
