I need a word that accurately describes the feeling one gets just before pitching a controversial idea to one's superior... in my case asking the principal of a catholic school to ok the formation of a gay-straight alliance.

It needs to be a good word, too, because I am writing a scholarship essay about it. My original word was trepidation but that is not the right word.

I was wondering what people thought about self-paced learning?
Personally, I think it is a great idea. Instead of a whole group of people learning at one general level, each student can learn at their own pace. I suppose that is why students are either promoted or held back. I suggest that intead of using that method, I suggest using other methods to give the student an opportunity to never get a grade less than an A, the more they repeat, the more they are apt to get a better grade, plus their would be incentives to accomplish more, instead of the deterring effects of not accomplishing tasks in a timely manner.

I remember back in school, we would read a small section, then answer some questions. We raced to finish thes in order to finish first and go to recess. That meant getting a passing grade and believe me, we did whatever we could to get to recess early.

Find a point in the xy plane that the first coordinate plus the second coordinate equals 3, and the square of the first coordinate minus the square of the second coordinate equals -9.

Alright, basically I keep coming up with x=3, which would make y=0. Please help me, I'm really frustrated with this problem.

I am currently certified in Secondary/Education (English) and have a master's degree in classroom technology. I am considering leaving the teaching profession due to the enormous work load. The stress is inconceivable. However, I am not sure what job opportunities are availabe to me. I enjoy clerical work, but the pay is low. Any suggestions?

I've been trying to figure out what to do with my life, and what I want to major in. I've looked into the sciences (Bio/chem/Phys/Math) and didn't like alot of those, but I came across Kinesiology, which is exercise science at my U. I've always been into working out, training, sports, nutrition, and a healthy lifestyle.

I would like to research Exercise Physio, but is there even a chance to become a Ph.D. level and still have job prospects?
What kinds of things could I do with the degree?
Is it even worth majoring in??

I am currently attending ITT Tech and for personal reasons, it just isnt working out and am looking at possibly transferring to the University of Phoenix online classes. I am wondering if anyone here is currently enrolled in the University of Phoenix and if they could perhaps help make my decision easier. Thank you.
