My parents [mostly my mom] assume EVERYTHING wrong about me. It's sickening. Ok, like 1 month ago I got a prgress report from school in the mail. I was failing two classes. Now, a month later, and closer to the end of the semester, I have a D in [math] and almost a B in my other class. To my mom, that's not good enough. She and everyone else in my family just assumes I "don't want to pass high school" [I'm in 10th]. I swear they've all formed a conspiracy against me being that all they say is "you need to try harder" when I do. I've actually changed my study habits quite a bit in that I'm doing my HW and actually getting passing grades on tests and paying attention in class. I'm actually very proud of myself that I have a D in math becuase though it's no A, I know that going from an F to a D is an improvement, is it not? I'm trying am I not? They don't see that. They just see ways to make that D into a C instead of aknowledging I'm doing better. I feel unpraised..

the difference between the word loose and lose? I see the word loose missused more than any other word on YA. The word loose is when something is not tight...for example "My pants are loose."
Lose is when something is no longer around, or is in the process of being lost...for example "I want to LOSE weight."
Thank you.

I am a college student that doesn't drink or party because I am working, trying to find another job, writing scholarship essays, taking 17 credits and genuinely trying to learn something. I get up every weekday at 7am, and I work hard. Today, I complained to a group of people in a class that my hallway was noisy until 3am last night, when I had an 8am class this morning, and that they all sleep until noon everyday. Instead of saying, "Oh, go see the RA." They immediately responded, "That's what college is supposed to be like." College is supposed to be like 20 drunk girls screaming down the hallway at 3am on a Thursday? The question is: Is there something wrong with them, or is there something wrong with me? Am I just too much of a stick in the mud for my own good? Why should I have to study at the library until 3am every night, because I can't study or sleep in my room? Why do other college students think it is the college experience and OK?

To explain why commonality is important, pcmag.com reminds us how the 2000 Presidential election was affected by apparently confusing punch cards in Florida. In that scenario, the interaction of humans with technology failed to prove consistent and resulted in a recount that cost time, effort, and money. A common user interface regarding ballots in all US polls might have been less stressful. Please describe other real-life situations where a lack of computer commonality can be detrimental or situations in which commonality could provide improvements.

Besides the ballot thing, what are some other examples of this type of situation>
