Hey, teachers - are you enjoying your Christmas/New Year break? Are you looking forward to going back into the classroom at 8AM on Jan 2, or do you wish this vacation was longer?

I'm a middle school special education paraprofessional with the New York City Board of Ed.

I am currently a high school senior. I have taken mostly all the important classes I need to take to graduate and fullfill my credit. I am planning to go to a community college for first 2 years and then transfer to another higher university later on after 2 years. I am really not quite sure about my major and I know I am the one who has to make the decision of choosing it. But, I am also certain that any of you can help me by telling me which one of those majors at the bottom will help me making big amount of money in the future. The majors I am interested in are-
1. business management
2. computer programming or science
3. Optical Doctor( don't know what subjects are available beside chemistry and biology)
4. music (instruments, band etc.)

I am currently in 10th grade. I began studying in the US at the second semester of 7th grade. I would like to know if I'm supposed to take the TOEFL in order to later apply for a university, or simply take the SAT and forget TOEFL ?

By the way - I have good grades in English and I believe that I'm proficient.

Does anyone here teach in a foreign country? That's what I want to do when I grow up. I used to live in China and Guam and the Netherlands, where I went to international schools and had American or some other English-speaking-country- teacher and I just really really think that would be great.

Hello, I am an English teacher in China. I'm really puzzled by the phrase "belong in" as in the following sentence:

There are bound to be some words and phrases that belong in formal language and others that are informal.
----------------------------
What does "belong in" mean? Actually, as a Chinese, I have long believed that "belong to" is the only possible collocation for the word "belong".
