This is a quote from Vince Lombardi a truly stupendous individual. I believe he had coached for a very short time at my high school and went on to become an acclaimed American Football coach. (He also played.)
This quote could be one to live by in real life. You learn from experiences, and if you don't get burned you won't learn jack. Remember that it is because we are down and out that we learn to get up and going and there is no way to learn for yourself how difficult life experiences can be if everything is handed to you on a silver platter.
