Okay, well our teachers made us write some papers on Hamlet. You know what that means? SparkNotes time! Anyway, she found out that a lot of the students plagiarized, but has not told us who has done it yet. I know for a fact that like... 8 consecutive words from my paper were practically copy and pasted. But that was all, the rest of the paper was my ideas, but I'm afraid she'll find out about it... since she is now checking ALL of the papers. I have 2 options: Not tell, and hope she doesn't realize. But if she does, then she'll lose respect for me and I will probably get into a lot of trouble. I may also get kicked out of National Honor Society. Or I could tell her and risk the fact that she MIGHT have missed the plagiarism in my paper. And get in (less?) trouble, but then she'll know... and I still don't know about the NHS for that one. So am I better off telling her? Or keeping it to myself and hoping for the best?

Should Supreme Court justices continue to have life tenure?

Supreme Court justices should continue to have life tenure. Up till today, we have had many Supreme Court justices who have served until their death or retirement. These justices have done a great job in running our country despite their age. They have also done a great job with keeping our judicial system alive and correctly functioning without politics. Life tenures should continue to be granted to Supreme Court justices because experience is everything when it comes to making decisions, because limited tenure would cause the game of politics to be brought into our judicial system, and because there is no need to improve our system when it is running fine at the moment and in the past.

does it sound good to you? any comments or suggestions?

thanks =] happy holidays && gnite for tnite =]

I am a homeschool-highschool senior. I will be starting a local college this next semester (spring '07). Does anyone out there have any transition tips...like ways to make the transition between homeschool and college easier? I'll be doing them congruently so I can get use to it, but I know it will still be difficult.

Mike C has let us know his opinion that homeschooling, other than for medical reasons, is a selfish option.

I don't understand that comment at all. It doesn't make any logical sense to me since I chose this for my children's benefit--knowing what I do about child psychology and development and the schools here--and not for my own. It has nothing to do with if my kids would do fine in school or not--it's what kind of people are they more likely to become or what are we as parents going to have to work against each day to negate whatever nonsense they've picked up at school.

I gave up a career outside the home and the income that would have brought. This of course means giving up all kinds of material possessions we could have had if I were making that income. That's selfish?

I have a huge responsibility now in making sure that my kids really get everything they need. It takes a lot of work and I do it for them because I truly believe it's what's best for them. That's selfish?
