How about Edgar Allen Poe poems? Lenore, The Raven, The Bells, Annabelle Lee, ... many others. Mostly about death. Mostly not too long.

The essence of your love
Now that I have found true love
My heart soul cant get enough,
you mean the world to me,
You bring me hope of eternity,
I love you with all my heart and soul,
The thought of you will never grow old,
With you right here my fear is gone,
You keep my mind to stay so strong,
And now I want to tell you I’ll never get enough
Of your tenderness, your heart your soul and the essence of your love.
God destroyed my pain and strife,
By placing you in my life,
Each and every night I Pray,
The joy we share wont fade away,
I swear to you I'll never lie,
And I promise that you'll never cry,
To you I give my all,
The love I have will never fall,
And now I know that God sent you from the Heavens above,
You give life by the essence of your love.
