A linear equation will result in a straight line when it is graphed. If you select two or more equations (they then become a system of equations) such that they result in parallel straight lines when drawn, they have no solution. That is because, for there to be a solution, the lines must intersect.

Just make a 2X2 inconsistent system:
For example
x + 2y = 3
2x + 4y = 9.
In such a system the left side of the second
equation is a multiple of the first, but the
right sides don't match.
