Essentially -- I have superb grades in all of my classes (as a sophomore) -- half of my main classes being honors, with basically straight A's in them so far. Anyway, I'm too young to take the SAT/ACT but what my school does (and what I assume many other schools do) is base our class selections on standardized "MAP Testing" scores. I received a 249 on reading/language which is very, very high and started getting recommended for AP courses in both English and US History. Unfortunately, I'm not interested in them and don't feel that I am ready for them and my scores are too high to be let out without a hard fight as both my history and English teachers are giving me huge pressure to take them. I am a HUGE procrastinator and never end up getting my work done at home (which would be required for an AP course); I'm highly organized but I would get overwhelmed just from the feeling of being in an AP course. Any recommendations on getting out of them? Am I too worried?

i'm doing a reserach paper over corruption of power. i need an individual who has seized and abused their power. i already have a few in mind (hitler, stalin, lenin, mao zedong, nixon, mussolini...) but i want someone that people wouldn't normally think of. it could be anyone not just in politics, perhaps someone in the music industry (ceo of record labels, magazine editors, etc...) or in the media, it really doesn't matter. any information is appreciated and thanks.

During the first stage of a fire, the source, usually a dry material, flammable gas or liquid is ignited. As the source oxidizes from the igniter, the small flame slowly grows, coincidently releasing toxic gases such as carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide (only after long periods of time) (Macmillan, Palgrave. "Fire” Wikipedia. 09 Nov 2006. 12 Nov 2006 ). Occasionally, very flammable sources skip this stage (or proceed from the first) and go straight to stage 2: free or open burning. This stage basically consists of the fire eating away at its surroundings, slowly, but steadily, using up the surrounding oxygen. As the oxygen depletes, a rapid explosion signals the beginning of stage 3: flashover. Because of the limited amount of oxygen (which normally would absorb the dedense smoke particles) the resulting smoke is a deep black with temperatures reaching at least 1000 Celsius! How should i wrap up this paragraph?
