perhaps it means, to do things in small steps, not to rush take time, the man removes the rocks of the mountain one by one and in the end moves the entire mountain himself, this could also be a metaphor for conquering our mountains in life, and also to be independant in doing so. hope this helpsxxx lala, 16, xxx

Like all things doing something as huge as moving a mountain you must begin with small steps towards the end goal. Carrying away or moving the small stones is necessary first step towards moving a mountain.

To make something huge happen you have to start with something small.

I believe it means that if , well lets say that you owe some one alot of money and you can't pay it all at once that you pay it a little at a time until it is paid off. Now the mountain has been removed.

Pretty much the same thing as 'one step at a time.' You dont start moving mountains by moving the whole thing at once, and you dont tackle massive tasks without first taking care of all the smaller details.

it means that if you want to get a big problem done you have to start by simple things and built up to bigger ones.

The man who moved the mountain is doing a big job.
he starts by moving small stones this is a little job.

i think it means if you want to achieve a huge goal (removing a mountain) you need to make smaller goals to help you achieve your long term goal (carrying away the small stones)

in simple words it means to do something great you have to start off by doing other stuff that will help you work your way up there or it could mean dreams don't come true overnight sometimes things will happen in small steps but that's the way life is.

be consistant. keep chipping away and you'll get there. It is also alot wiser to remove the trash can from the doorway, rather than to try an jump over it.
