On most clock faces the Roman numeral 4 is displayed as 4 strokes when it should read lV. Why is this. I realise that you would have the letter V three times on the dial of the clock, but this is no excuse, as the letter X is three times on the Dial. 9-10-11 etc.. answers please.....

ok i did my homework, im just looking for other views since my take is that its kind of sappy; if anyone ever actually feels like this its beyond me but i'd love to hear from you cos my grade depends on it. it's by a local poet (glasgow)....
i also have to ' give it a suitable title and explain my choice'. i was warned by my english teacher that she expected a title that wasnt just a line from the poem itself.
so heres the poem:

I am a very, very, VERY forgetful person.
And since undergraduate education (or at least, MY undergraduate education) demands students to remember hundreds of pages worth of notes with 100% accuracy for each subject, I am sooooo screwed, am I?
