It doesn't say what the 500 is in the 250mg/500. I am assuming that it is 250mg per 500mL

250/500 I think that means you have 250 mg avaiable out of a dosis that is worth 500
like my advair 250/50 the 50 means you get 50 puffs out of that with a dispense of 250 mg.

well, if a patient take 500 mg three times a day, that means multiply 500 X 3 = 1,500 mg
cc's stands for cubic centimeters.
ml's stands for milliliters and mg = miligram
One cc = one ml They are equivalent.
One teaspoon = 5 cc = 5 ml
One Tablespoon (Tbl) = 15 cc = 15 ml
One Tablespoon = 3 teaspoons
One ounce = 30 cc = 30 ml = 2 Tablespoons = 6 teaspoons
8 ounces (The common size for a formula bottle) = 240 cc = 240 ml
so I hope that helps a little bit. Otherwise go to Yahoo engine type in dosage conversion

Need to know what the unit of measure is for the 500 in (250mg/500)

Once you have that, it should be much easier.

Each day patient takes x mg or y cc's (I guess this is the conversion you're looking for).

Once you get that, you're home free! But that's why we need to top measure, to get that measure vs. cc's.
