I'm going into Highschool this year, and a lot of stress is being put on planning for our futures. At the moment, I am planning on majoring in Psychology or something similar in college, and I was wondering what sort of jobs would be available for someone with a degree in that field.

Obviously, a psychologist is an option. But what about things that aren't normally associated with Psychology? For instance, could one become a teacher with a Psy. Degree? If you don't mind, could people share with the the different fields one could enter with a decent (4-8 year) Psychology degree?

Also, are there other majors similar to psychology?

Please and thank you, much love, people!

A "Wise King" devised a contest to see who would receive the Princess hand in marriage.

The Princess was put in a 50x50 foot carpeted room. Each of her four suitors were put in one corner of the room with a small box to stand on. The first one to touch the Princess hand would be the winner and become the new King.

The rules of the test were that the contestants could not walk over the carpet, cross the plane of the carpet, or hang from anything; nor could they use anything but their body and wits (i.e. no magic or telepathy, nor any items such as ladders, block and tackles, etc.).

One suitor figured out a way and married the Princess and became the new King.

How did he figure it out?

A cop was walking past a restaurant when he heard one woman scream and another woman yelled- "No John, not the gun!" He ran inside and and saw a doctor, a lawyer, a milkman, and a dead body on the floor. He promptly walked over to the milkman and arrested him. He didn't witness the shooting and there was no apparent evidence to prove who shot the person and no one told him who the killer was.

How did the policeman instantly know it was the milkman?

I was thinking about gifted classes today and I realized I knew nothing about other school's gifted programs.

I am "gifted" in writing and reading. I don't know how they determined this. I kind of remember a test when I was in second grade where I just read this lady a story about early America. Apparently that was the test. I don't think they tested everyone so I'm not sure how I was chosen since there were plenty of people with high grades.

I was in the gifted program for five years. Apparently my school doesn't have a highschool program so last year, my freshman year, was my first year without gifted. It was ok, but I felt like there was some weird insider thing I was missing out on.

My first years of gifted were called "Enrichment" and focused on marine biology? Which makes no sense to me. Then they grew to become more reading/writing oriented.

What is the gifted program like at your school? Does it carry through highschool? Pros? Cons?

I once heard a story about a young guy in the late 1800's or early 1900's who approached a well-known businessman offering his services as a consultant. He gave the businessman 1 piece of advice for free, telling him to test it out by applying it to his life. Then, he could send the young consultant a check for whatever he felt the advice was worth. The well-known businessman said that it was the most valuable piece of advice he had ever been given, and sent the young consultant a huge check.

I NEED to find out where this story came from for a report that will be sent to hundreds of people. Can you guys help me out here? Where did I read this story?
