I like to make up names, and at one time I had a list of over 300. I had names like, Rose Garden, Mike Rowave, Stan Dup, Ike N. Dewitt, and William Arryme. However, I actually KNOW some people here in my town that have names like these. I know a Mona Moore (mon amor- means my love in French), and a Jean Pohl (Gene pool, a scientific term). Do you know anyone with names like these, that mean something or describe something, or can you make up some good ones?

If I study about 1-3 hours everyday this summer, in addition to practicing 2 hours of music, do you think my chances of getting burnout during the school year are high (burnout to the point of getting worse grades)? Because right now I'm devoting at least 3 hours everyday to work, and I'm afraid I won't have the motivation to get straight A's my sophomore year once it comes around.

i have a lot of friends that are getting a lot of emails and letters from colleges that are advertising themselves. I don't recieve any. I'm a very good student and have plenty of extra-curriculum activities so why don't these colleges seek me?

I'm moving to the US and I've always wanted to go to Harvard, Berkeley or Columbia...But since I dont have that kind of money right away I'm thinking about going to a community college just to get the used to studing methods and stuff and then after a year transfering to a TOP school like Harvard or Columbia...
My question is...Even having a community college background will they accept me into college? What do I need to do to get into?
Do I have to take the SAT?
My grades are not bad but Im not a straight "A" student either...so that's why I thought about community college to prepare myself a little bit more...And I dont really want a AA dregree...So What are the odds of me getting into a top school?
Thanks guys!!!!!!!

Should I Get help? My little sister (formaly a math genius) claims that she cant understand her new math and physics teachers because of the heavy accents? (I had professors with foreign accents in the past in high school and in college but never had this problem! )
My little sister claims that she has approached her instructors in the past and explained that she doesnt understand (the lesson!) when in fact it was just the accent.. however being respectful choose not to state the real reason for her not understanding. She claims she is not the only one! What should i do??

I'm going to Haverford College this fall and like most/all colleges, they require you to take a placement test. If, for instance, I do well on a placement test and instead of being in Math 101, I am in Math 201. Will they give me the credit for 101? I know not everyone goes there but I am interested in how that works for the school you attend/attended as well.

I'm considering homeschooling my goddaughter (at her request). I've read tons of articles & statistics listing the pros & cons, and have found organizations, classes, & gatherings, to make sure she gets plenty of social interaction with other kids. My only concern is that we are moving to a small home. I need good ideas on how to give her the best "classroom" experience in a limited space. Thanks in advance!

Is anyone else paranoid like me and always makes sure that whatever they type is grammatically correct? Also, are you astounded at the number of people that do not type, spell, or express themselves properly?

Sometimes I wish I could just chill a bit but... I'm paranoid!
