You may not have visited sites / businesses and given the kind of personal information needed for them to sell your personal stats to the colleges.
These businesses/websites typically sell off the demographic statistics provided by those using their sites to various marketing companies or marketing departments (ie: colleges) who then use the information to contact the user/shopper/client to advertise their products/services to those they feel will have the most likelihood of purchasing them.
It probably has very little to do with you individually or your grades.

Unless your parents are big time college people the colleges would just randomly send things to you. If you've won some major awards, some will but otherwise they don't send you anything unless they know you are interested.
Take the ACT or SAT your 11th grade year and your PSAT and P-ACT your 9-10th grade year. There is a box that you check saying that you are interested in receiving things from colleges. Once I did I received two shoe boxes full of mail a month from colleges.
Also you can contact any college you want and they will send you things nonstop. Check out my old college for instance.

Thats because you checked the studentfinder thing on the psat where you put your email in. You scored within the range of what they look for on the psat, but they don't know anything else about you, it's really not that big of a deal. Not to say you couldnt get into these schools and should look at them you seem very qualified but this happens to everyone whose taken either the psat and put there email on it. It gets annoying but by the time your a senior look at them closley because some of them fee waivers and things so you don't have to write an essay to apply. So keep an eye on them but for the most part everyone gets them.

Just wait. Also, you could go on colleges websites and ask them to email you information or get their phone number to ask for more info.

Take the ACT or SAT and put your email in the registration form.
They have to have a way to get your email address.

What are you good at doing? Do your friends play sports, sing, dance? What is their specific thing? If you want to get noticed you have to have 1 thing you can do the best. Contact your Guidance Councelor and talk to him/her about it. Good luck!

I'm in the exact position as you. Did your parents go to college in the US? Mine didn't so that makes a difference, I'm guessing.

Maybe you should email them and maybe you will receive letters from them if they know you are interested.
