If you had to describe any tastes, smells or foods that remind you of the city you live in, what would they be? What things strike your senses as saying "wow, I love living here"

I live near the UIC area (Halsted and Taylor) and I was wondering if someone knew of the closest place where I could buy a bottle of the Korean wine Soju.
Thanks!

Will be there with long delay between flights. I've heard Malnati's has the best. What do you think? Especially interested in hearing from Chicagoans.

Does anyone know of a good dessert place to go to in Chicago? Preferably downtown or near north areas the have a good Brownie a la Mode. It doesnt need to specialize in desserts or anything, as long as the food is decent. If anyone knows of a place...please let me know.

thanks so much!

Our family will be visiting Chicago in May and we would like to go to a real authentic Chicago pizza restaurant, preferably not a chain. What do you suggest?

I've been to places that will only give me water if I pay for bottled water, they won't give me a glass or cup of even tap water. Does anyone know if that is illegal? Cause if it isnt, it should be!

So hey, I'm looking for a bar right on the water somewhere in Chicago. Nothing like the fancy restaurants around Clark & the Chicago River - just a good outdoor drinking spot on the lakefront or a river (or if not outdoors then with large open windows). I like the outdoor bars at Navy Pier but they are a little too crowded and commercialized.

I keep hearing about a chocolate bar or cafe of sorts in Chicago but can't find any info on it. Anyone know if it exists or if it did and now doesn't?

I'm taking a two day trip in April with my boyfriend to Chicago. We're staying in Lincoln Park, going to a Cubs game, a Say Anything concert and generally galavanting around the city. We've been several times, but never stayed in that area. Any recommendations on restaurants where entrees are less than $20? We already know that one night we're going to The Cheesecake Factory, and have a general rule that when we're in Chicago, we can't eat anywhere that we could have here in Kalamazoo MI.

It's my girlfriend's birthday and I'm looking someplace nice to eat where the total bill for two (with a couple drinks or bottle of wine) doesn't exceed $80. We're staying on the Magnificient Mile if that helps.
