Going to Chicago in August and I know Gino's East, but the wife has never been there, and I haven't been there since 2004 so what are some good reasonable and fun places?

L. Woods Tap & Pine Lodge
BBQ ribs and chicken served up with a pint of beer. The restaurant is designed to appear as if you are eating in a old lodge down by the lake. It’s a very relaxed feel.
Scoozi
Located in the River North district, this Italian eatery has been serving up great food since the eighties. Wine Spectator magazine routinely awards the restaurant for their extensive wine list. It’s a fun eating experience.
Café Ba-Ba-Reeba
If tapas is your thing, head down to Chicago’s original restaurant for Spanish food. Open since 1991, Chef and part owner Gabino Sotelino has been offering up great tasting food for 15 years without fail. It’s great food is matched by a very colorful restaurant. You’ll enjoy your dinner here.
Wildfire – Steaks, Chops & Seafood
For jazz with your steak, the Wildfire is the place to be. More like a 1940s nightclub than a steak house, you’ll be tapping your toes as you eat your meal. Great place to go with friends to enjoy a relaxing meal in an upscale yet casual dining atmosphere. You’ll enjoy your Saturday night at the Wildfire.

If you like fun and a warp back in time to the 50's Ed Debevic's is the place to go.

But remember that the waiters are rude on purpose and if you get there at the right time you can see them dance on the bar.

By far my fav. place in Chicago. It is deffnetly a must see.

Suaprossa's on Central and Montrose is a good place. A little pricey but really really tasty Italian food.

Depending on what type of food you are looking for, a cheaper alternative would be I would say Portillos for fast food, for pizza, Lou Malnatti's, and for Ribs def. Gale Street Inn (which isnt cheap).

If you like italian, Connie's Pizza is the BEST. For chinese I would go to China Town cause there are SO many choices, the Phoenix is the best in my opinion, plus in China Town they have cute shops and it would be a really fun date place.

The best restaurant that I have been to in Chicago is Le Colonial. It is French-Vietnamese, and there are additional places in NYC and SF. This restaurant is superior in prices, food, decor. I highly recommend it.

If you are headed for the south west suburbs, there is Bobak's they have good Polish food, its a buffet, in a store of the same name, whats neat about that is all the food that's on the buffet is sold in the store, there are a four locations one in Orland Park, one in Burr Ridge, one in Naperville (I think) and one in Chiago. I think the one in Chicago is just a store though.

If you like Mediterranean cuisine, then definitely check out Reza's. They have two locations--one in the city and on out around Oak Brook. Wonderful food, great vegetarian options, nice portions.

Depends on what you want to do and they have entertainment for all tastes and budgets. There are restaurants for all tastes and budgets. Two of my favorite places are Ed Debevic's and Rainforest Cafe.
