I would go with Wildfire. They have really good steak and seafood and they are much more reasonably priced than other steakhouses in Chicago!

Well, decide what you want to eat. Most steak places don't serve seafood and vice versa....most seafood places don't serve steak...if you're talking about the best ones. Red Lobster will serve both but I wouldn't call them "best". There are only two real steak houses in the city...Gibson's and Lawry's...you'd better have the money though because they ain't cheap. Seafood places? Be more specific. Seafood as in sushi or as in cooked fish? Agami on the northside is fairly new, quite unheard of yet but it's gaining a very good popularity....they serve sushi is very good and it doesn't have that after taste from the fish that comes for the cheap sushi places....but they do have cooked food too. I go there for sushi...and it's not too expensive.

My husband and I are partial to Houston's on Ohio and Rush. They have wonderful steaks. Still, the uber-steak joints are Ruth's Chris, The Chop House or Gene and Georgetti's (G&G make an amazing lamb chop platter as well). I've never been, but my sis said the Lawry's restaurant (yes, like the seasoned salt), which is kiddie-corner to Houston's, is pretty great too.

Best steak in downtown Chicago, is, IMHO, Morton's Steakhouse....it is an individual choice, but this is a great place.....if you are taking your boyfriend out, he might enjoy the atmosphere at Harry Carey's or Ditka's even better...they have a subtle sports theme...
But, for the best steak...do Morton's...

For steak and seafood try Morton's. A more subdued restaurant with infusion menu, quiet so you can talk and an excellent wine list try Kevin at State and Hubbard http://www.kevinrestaurant.com..

Does it have to be steak and seafood? You can get that but with a little twist at:
1-Café Ibérico. 2-Lawry´s. 3-Berghoff. 4-Greek Island.
....I had overcooked pasta at Rosebud.

If it still there, try Bob Chinns. If not then it is in Wheeling and they have the best steak and seafood and great Mai Tai's too.

Joe's Primesteak, stonecrab and seafood.
Gibson's Steakhouse is a complete joke. They are nothing more than a landmark now for tourists and the unknowing, dirty old men and hookers from the suburbs. Trust me I've eaten all over the city many many times. Anyone who tells you Gibon's is a complete fool who knows nothing about quality.
Joe's combines the best of everything and the service is impeccable.
